October

Surprise, it's not December!

There's really only one new essay, The Nagell-Ljunggren Equation. It's not even completely done yet, but I'm happy with the main essay and with Other Identities, so I thought I'd share.

I meant to have something sooner. The first half of the main essay is from January, so the “recently” at the start actually means a year ago. That's recent, right? Then, after a couple of false starts, I did some more work in May and June, and the rest in September.

In May and June I also converted the whole urticator.net project to Unicode. Some highlights:

  • Tables of Exceptions and many other places now have proper “greater than or equal to” symbols.
  • Repeat Length now has the proper symbol for Euler's function φ(n).
  • Sharps and Flats now has proper sharp and flat symbols (2 and 2 instead of 2# and 2b).
