So, here I am, preparing to release the second batch. Since you'll be wondering what's new, I've put together an index that provides complete details, but I'd also like to point out a few essays I consider especially worthwhile. There are two, really … Art as Novelty and The Grand Analogy. Both of these exemplify the following guideline, which I have been learning to apply.

I shouldn't just write about whatever's on my mind, I should write about those things my thoughts keep returning to.

Speaking of worthwhile things, I'm also very fond of the quote presented in the essay What Is Necessary?.

In addition to having new content created, the site has also had a couple of minor technical improvements made. The main one is that I've classified the essays by status: some are complete, some are incomplete, and the rest are structural essays with no content. This classification has been used to make an index of essays by status (mainly useful for finding complete essays) and also to organize the batch details page mentioned above.

The other technical improvement is that I've put a few more ratings into use, so that it's possible to distinguish between works I haven't yet assigned a rating to and works that are intentionally not rated for one reason or another.
